What families are saying.

  • "Kelsey truly cares about the needs of new moms and babies. It's obvious that she loves what she does, and dedicated time to research lactation outside of the classroom. She spent hours working with my newborn and myself to help us with latching during breastfeeding, despite my baby having a tongue tie. Kelsey is very supportive in all aspects. I highly recommend her!"

-Ashley & Calyn (7 days old)

  • "If you need a lactation consultant these are the gals you want to go to! Katie was so gentle and attentive to my needs when feeding little Sunny. She also provided encouragement and some tips for feeding her too! check them out!!"

-Nicki & Sunny (4 months old)

  • "Kelsey was really great! We had seen lactation consultants in the hospital who were all wonderful, but when we were struggling a week later we connected with Coming Home RVA. They fit us in for a same day appointment at our home and made an overwhelming day a lot more manageable. Kelsey did a great job trying to puzzle out our specific areas that needed work and came up with a plan for the next week to get us back on track and moving towards our goals! We would 100% recommend using Coming Home RVA for lactation help!"

-Sarah & Gabe (11 days old)

  • "I am a first time mom and was very excited about breastfeeding, so I read some books and took a class or two, but there is a lot of information missing in those resources. Thankfully, I got connected to Kelsey who filled that gap for me! Her positive, kind nature put me at ease and her nonjudgmental responses to all my questions made me feel understood and heard as a new mom. She provided education about things that never crossed my mind and ended up being extremely beneficial. My one-on-one sessions with Kelsey made a huge difference in my breastfeeding journey. I wish I had found Coming Home earlier!"

-Felicia & Elijah (6 months old)

  • "Kelsey with Coming Home was an absolute pleasure to work with. She was timely, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. She made me feel incredibly comfortable and I never felt judged. -Leah & Mara (10 days old)

  • "As a first time mom, I was so worried about breast feeding, especially since my baby had to go to the NICU. I had to start pumping right away, and there were some days where it seemed like I was producing nothing and I wanted to give up! Katie came over and gave me so much confidence that everything I was doing was just right and to just keep trying. She helped my baby with his latch and was even able to tell me how much milk he was getting at each feeding! I'm so grateful for Katie and her help. I feel like every mom needs her!"

-Cody & Wesley (8 days old)

  • "Breastfeeding can be intimidating and overwhelming, especially for first time parents. We did not have the easiest time with our son latching on and needed some additional support to see if we can do things differently. Having Katie visit was a great experience that gave us more ease and less pressure as we navigate and learn more about our sons needs. She listened patiently and provided tips on how to improve our feeding sessions. She was very compassionate and easy to work with. We greatly appreciated her time and support. Highly recommend Coming Home and Katie."

-Deniz & Jason (7 days old)

  • "I cannot thank my midwife enough for connecting me with Kelsey at Coming Home LLC! Our first born little guy struggled to latch at the hospital after delivery until I was advised to use nipple shields however my midwife thought I shouldn’t need to use them and recommended doing a consult with Kelsey. We were discharged on Sunday and had an at home appointment scheduled quickly for Monday evening because I wanted to get on top of the issue rather than letting it progress. After our session with Kelsey I felt immensely more at ease with breastfeeding and my son was latching on and taking full feedings beautifully! We adopted all of her recommendations and had already surpassed his birth weight by putting on 1/2 pound from Monday to Thursday of that very week! Not only was Kelsey’s coaching clearly effective but her demeanor was also exceptionally warm, relating exceptionally to this brand new mama (even empathizing about my sadness over our cat distancing as she adjusts to the baby). At our follow-up appointment Kelsey helped to navigate best practices for pumping so that my husband can partake in the bonding experience of feeding our little one. Since our appointment earlier this week I’ve been able to express milk at a good sustainable pace for our family’s needs. Our son is now successfully and happily taking 1-2 bottle feedings a day with his father and otherwise feeding at the breast with me. I cannot stress enough how appreciative I am for Kelsey’s wisdom and support. I will recommend Coming Home to any friends in the RVA area and look forward to participating in their expanding programs such as infant massage."

-Jackie & Kai (18 days old)

  • "I am so happy I made the decision to meet with Kelsey and Coming Home RVA. She answered all the questions and concerns I had about my little girl, and as a first time mom it was a lot!! I left the appointment feeling more confident in my abilities to feed my baby and I also knew I had other options and additional information in the care plan to try. There is a lot of information on social media and every friend / family member has an opinion about what you should do but I’m glad I sought out professional advice from Coming Home RVA."

-Ann & Virginia (1 month old)

  • "After months of contemplating, I was proud of myself for finally starting the process of weaning. As many parts of the breastfeeding journey are, weaning was much more difficult than I expected. In only being able to find information focused on how to help the baby with the weaning process, my frustration grew and my confidence in my decision waned. I kept thinking 'my baby is handling it fine! I am not.' I was in pain and felt like nothing was working. I reached out for help and Katie was able to give me the grace I was not able to give myself at the time. She listened to my experience without judgement. She never once questioned my decision. She validated the difficulty. She worked with me to develop a plan that felt reasonable and realistic. Coming Home RVA met me where I was at, literally IN MY OWN HOME, with person-centered, individualized care. The process of connecting with them was easy. I felt supported and empowered with the knowledge to follow through on my choice."

    -Karli & Eva (8 months)

  • “We struggled with breastfeeding immediately after birth. While in the hospital, we met with multiple lactation specialists. Each person gave us conflicting advice - none of which solved our issue. Frustrated, and at the advice of our midwife, we reached out to Coming Home RVA. Katie was able to come to our house the next day for an initial consult. When she walked into our home, it was like a breath of fresh air. Katie's knowledge, confident reassurance, and warmth were exactly what I needed as a first-time mom starting out on my breastfeeding journey. She listened to our concerns and provided us with recommendations and resources that were exactly what we needed. Within 48 hours, our issue was fixed and our daughter was eating like a pro. The fact that our visits took place within the comfort of our own home and we didn't have to worry about toting our newborn to another appointment was the cherry on top of the experience. We are so grateful for Katie and Coming Home RVA. They are a valuable resource for the Richmond community and we are so glad they are here!”

-Morgan & Nora (1 week old)

  • “After doing so much research about labor and delivery, I realized I had even more questions on what happens afterwards! Katie took the time to go through all my questions and concerns. From feeding, pumping, formula, and shields, no question was too small. I left my appointment feeling knowledgeable and confident in my own abilities, which has eased my anxiety as a first time mom. Working with Coming Home RVA was a dream come true, and something I’d recommend to any mother.”

    -Melissa (38 wks pregnant)

  • “I am not sure where to begin… I was lucky enough to win Coming Home RVA’s grand opening giveaway for an in-home consult. At the time I was a fresh new mama with only a couple weeks under my belt. Boy did I need the help! Insert Katie. I’m so grateful to her for all the knowledge she’s given and the confidence she has instilled in me as a first time breast feeding mom. When I felt defeated, she picked me. When I thought my little guy wasn’t getting enough, she ensured me he was (how great is it that they offer weighted feeds). She is such a gem - so patient, kind and understanding! She has the knowledge and the tools to help even the most seasoned mamas. If she doesn’t know an answer - she does what she can to find out. She goes above and beyond. To all the new moms out there wondering if they need to seek the help of Katie or Kelsey. I say yes. Don’t even think about it - you won’t regret it.”

-Brittany & Bode (12 weeks old)

  • “Katie is an amazing lactation specialist! I have seen many lactation specialists, and no one compares to Katie! Katie is extremely intelligent, kind, caring, and you can tell she truly loves being a lactation specialist! She helped me with many different problems I was having and made me feel comfortable talking to her and confident in myself. She let me know that the things I was concerned with were legitimate concerns and gave solutions to fixing and improving the problems and concerns! She helped me figure out that I was using too big of a flange size for my pump which was causing a lot of pain for me when pumping. I also loved how she came to my home and I didn’t have to load my car up with my daughter, boppy, pump, and pump parts! It made the whole process a lot more comforting! I would highly recommend Katie to all my friends and family!! She is truly the BEST lactation specialist around!”

    -Rachel & Savannah (2 1/2 weeks old)

  • “I am not a typical lactation patient since I was 7 months PP when I contacted Coming Home. I needed help with pumping rather than nursing. I was anxious about having a stranger coming to my house to help me but within the first few minutes of meeting Katie, I felt at ease. She was able to size me properly for my flange size and improve my pumping experience. She was even available a few days later when I needed assistance with getting rid of mastitis.”

-Amy & Olivia (7 months old)

  • “As soon as my little one was born I was struggling with breastfeeding and as a new mom I didn’t know exactly what I was doing. I reached out to Kelsey and she got back to me right away. She was such a pleasure to work with- from the initial consultation to the follow up appointment. She was very knowledgeable and I could definitely tell that she is passionate about what she does. Kelsey, thank you for giving me the tools and confidence in my breastfeeding journey. Highly recommend to any other mamas out there.”

-Lani & Silas (4 days old)

  • "My consult with Katie was nothing short of amazing - she’d incredibly kind, compassionate and knowledgeable and was able to suggest several helpful ideas for my lactation journey which has only increased my enjoyment and success. I will absolutely be recommending her services to any moms out there!"

-Alison & Lee (4 days old)

  • "Katie has been part of caring for both of our babies, both as a nurse and a lactation consultant. We truly couldn’t ask for better in either role. Katie came into our home and helped ease feeding concerns with our daughter. She was able to confirm a lip tie that was missed by two precious providers. Her weighted feed was able to give us valuable information into knowing my daughter wasn’t being efficient or transferring milk during her entire nursing session. Katie gave us a referral for her tie and therapy and that connection has also been wonderful. Katie is the best, and we have loved having her love on both of our babies (and us)!"

-Morgan & Camryn (3 weeks old)

  • "I am on my 3rd child and had breast feeding issues with my first 2. With my first two children, even though I met with other IBCLC's, I never felt any resolve or there was a true plan. Then came Kelsey! She was very professional and never made me feel like I was doing something wrong but helped me through my particular challenges. She also provided me with options and made me feel in control to do what is best for me and my son. Additionally help with my pump and flanges were awesome. I learned about a new flange I never knew existed and am looking forward to using it! Kelsey is a class act and I am so glad I had the opportunity to use these services in the comfort of my own home . I wish I was able to use her for my first two sons!"

-LaWanda & James (15 days old)

  • "Katie went out of her way to accommodate my lactation needs - especially on short notice! She was a consummate professional and exhibited a sensitivity and compassion that I desperately needed during those first few days home with a newborn. She thoughtfully listened to my concerns, while creating a plan that would work best for my family situation. Additionally, she took the initiative to collaborate with our doula and other professionals helping us at home so that we would have a comprehensive, transport action plan. Katie has a heart of gold and the ability to immediately put you at ease. Any new parent would be lucky to work with her."

-Amanda & Caroline (1 week old)

  • "Katie was a joy to work with. She came to my house for an in person session during the first week I had my firstborn home from the hospital and it was one of the best decisions I have made on my postpartum journey. She asked what my goals were with respect to breast feeding and then we built a plan around that. It is very individualized which I loved. She also provided a ton of helpful information and made sure I had links to order all of the pumping parts I needed. I cannot recommend this service enough! They are a great resource for new or even repeat moms."

-Tory & Charlie (1 week old)

  • "Kelsey was the third lactation consultant we had seen and was by far the most helpful. Kelsey assessed my baby way more than previous providers. She listened and then addressed each concern I had and provided ways to address each issue. Kelsey is an incredible provider- she is knowledgeable, observant, attentive, and kind. I have already recommended Coming Home to numerous friends."

-Katie & William (1 month old)

  • "Katie has been such a valuable resource as we’ve navigated these early newborn days. The prenatal consult made me feel confident with starting breast feeding right after delivery. Our second visit, after being home for a few days, was a great reassurance that things are going well. I am so glad that I found Coming Home when I did!"

    -Michelle & Stella (1 1/2 weeks old)

  • "Kelsey was so helpful in reassuring me that baby was latching well and transferring enough milk. She was so professional and thorough from A to Z. You can tell she loves what she does and really wants to help us mama’s out in meeting our breastfeeding goals. She was quick to respond and easy to get an appointment with, not to mention sweet as can be and so personal. I completely recommend Kelsey and her whole team to everyone- from first to fifth time+ mom! Thank you!!!!"

-Aly & Bennett (6 days old)

  • "Katie was incredible. She was able to reschedule at last minute when my little man had a bad night. When she met with me, she went over my concerns, helped me with positioning, and figuring out why I was having issues with pumping. She was compassionate, kind, and reassured me when I needed it. I’m so grateful she came out to see us! Katie is an absolute delight and so very knowledgeable."

-Tora & Ronan (10 days old)

  • "Kelsey was fantastic to work with! She came highly recommended and did not disappoint. Kelsey helped me with a weighed feeding; this gave me peace of mind that Anna was getting the right amount of milk when breast feeding. Additionally, she helped fit me with the right size flanges, making pumping way more efficient! I would definitely recommend Kelsey to anyone needing lactation support!"

-Kristin & Anna (3 weeks old)

  • "While breastfeeding is natural for a newborn, coming home from the hospital with that responsibility is overwhelming. I’m lucky that before I had my first baby I met with a pediatrician who recommended Coming Home RVA. I messaged them to get an appointment on a Saturday and Lisa quickly responded and set an appointment for Monday morning. Lisa provided me with a ton of tips, resources, and made me feel much more confident. When I had concerns a few days later, again she came over quickly and was incredibly helpful. She provided me with a lot of support and encouragement during this early period of transitioning to being a mom. I will happily call her again or recommend her to any of my friends who have babies and would like to breastfeed!"

-Traci & Josie (6 days old)

  • "Katie's knowledge and expertise have been key in establishing a successful nursing relationship with my daughter. I always knew she had both of our interests at heart. I am so thankful for her time and energy!"

-Katherine & Quinn (7 days old)

  • "I would recommend Katie to any new mom trying to figure out breastfeeding. She was so easy to talk to and helped me with all of my questions and concerns. I am very thankful to have her help on my breastfeeding journey!"

-Lacie & Oaklee (2 weeks old)

  • "Kelsey was incredibly helpful and I am so glad I reached out. I was feeling very lost concerning my breast feeding and pumping journey and she answered all of my questions and showed compassion and understanding during a time where many women feel vulnerable and overwhelmed. I enjoyed her visit and would 100% recommend them to anyone needing assistance!"

-Olivia & Liam (2 weeks old)

  • "Kelsey was knowledgeable, nice, and compassionate. I reached out to her as I needed help at home versus the stress of going to an office with a newborn. From the first meeting, we unpacked a lot in the visit that I was able to apply. With her help, I was able to get my baby to latch longer and slowly breastfeed more often. She addressed my concerns, answered all questions, and worked with my needs and expectations. I 100% recommend this company’s services."

-Dipal & Nikash (1 month old)

  • "After a week of struggling on my own through painful and stressful feedings, I reached out to Coming Home at recommendation of my pediatrician. Even though it was a Saturday, they were quick to respond and fit me in that afternoon! Kelsey was professional, warm, and made me feel heard. Our first attempt to latch was a success due to Kelsey’s quick adjustments and was able to feed pain free for the first time. She helped make adjustments and helped me practice so that I would feel comfortable on my own. We went from sometimes taking 30 plus minutes to latch, with a lot of screaming, kicking and frustration, to latching instantly and feeding for 2 to 3x longer than we had been all week! We are now over birthweight a week later! I can not recommend Coming Home enough to new moms who are frustrated and struggling with navigating breastfeeding."

-Kristin & Theo (1 week old)

  • "We initially received Katie’s support in teaching our son latching successfully when we came home from the hospital after giving birth. With time and patience, and the tips Katie had provided, we were able to properly help our son latch on without the breast shield. Although, all things were going well, we had challenges with ensuring he was getting the right volume during each feeding session. Katie visited us as a follow up with eager and provided the comfort and additional knowledge we needed. Not only she gives the invaluable information, her wonderful personality makes a difference in this whole process is such a sweet, loving way. We will always highly recommend Coming Home and Katie for families. "

-Deniz and Jason (13 weeks old)

  • "I had an incredible experience working with Coming Home. Logistically, everything was seamless working through The Lactation Network to find, establish, and pay for their services. It could not have been easier. Having Lisa come to my home was such a gift because, outside of it simply being the easiest possible option for me physically since I didn't have to navigate getting myself and a newborn somewhere, she was able to observe us where we primarily feed and see the props we use, etc. Any and all adjustments could be catered to our real life experience. Lisa herself is wonderful. She is professional and extremely knowledgable while also being warm and compassionate, so I felt comfortable and encouraged through the whole process. The agency's portal is great for questions and for her to check in on my progress. The resources she left me with after my visit have also been informative and helpful. I will definitely be keeping her information saved through my current breastfeeding journey and for any future children I may decide to have."

-Shelly & Charlize (6 weeks old)

  • "Having the opportunity to work with Lisa was an absolute gift and game changer for our new family. She was highly professional and competent, while being so genuinely kind and personable. Lisa was patient, encouraging and offered lots of options and resources. We felt so heard, respected and empowered by her. AND best of all, we’ve had great improvements with breastfeeding since implementing her recommendations! I would highly suggest anyone in need or even want of a lactation consultant to spend time with Lisa. You will be better for it!"

-Nicole & Liam (6 days old)

  • "I am a third time mom. I have seen and worked with at least four different lactation consultants through out having my kiddos prior to our third baby arriving. Katie was by far the most helpful and knowledgeable Lactation Consultant I have worked with. The added perk of having her come to you in your home is amazing but I would travel to her if needed because of how much she helped in just her first visit with us. highly highly recommend :)"

-Briana & Lennox (8 days old)

  • "Kelsey is a true life saver! I reached out to her for some shallow latch issues. She came within 24 hours to the comfort of our house. She identified and solved the issue for us! She was also so personable and we chatted like we were friends for years! Highly recommend Kelsey!"

-Brittany & Callie (3 weeks old)

  • "Katie was exactly what I needed. She came to my house, prepared and it felt like she already knew me. The intake form was very detailed and you could tell she took the time to really “know” me before she met me. She feels invested in my breastfeeding journey and her presence is calming, professional and encouraging. She’s a wealth of knowledge and resources and I could not be happier with my experience so far. She’s warm, friendly and has strong communication skills. Basically everything you would want in a lactation consultant, she has. I’m so happy I found her and will continue to refer her to friends!"

-Shelley & Brynn (1 week old)

  • "Katie was extremely helpful for us! I specifically had her help me with the breast pump. We talked through many different things and were able to determine what settings and flange size worked best for me! She also helped talk me through a good schedule to incorporate pumping and bottle feeding into our routines. I am so thankful and will definitely be calling back with any other needs!"

-Tyler & Eliza (5 months old)

  • "We are so incredibly grateful to have met Kelsey during this new journey into parenthood. As a mom to a preemie, feeding her was a struggle that I felt unprepared for and despite meeting with lactation during our hospital stay, it only felt harder once we were discharged. We met Kelsey a few weeks into being home and learned so much from her immediately! Not only has she been incredibly knowledgable, we really feel like she has gotten to know us and has seen the progression of our daughter's growth and our feeding journey. As someone who had to start off exclusively pumping, working with Kelsey has been the absolute best decision I've made in this postpartum period and I'm so grateful for the support she's given me to keep working towards my goals of nursing my daughter."

-Kim & Gemma (3 months old; 32 week preemie graduate)

  • "Kelsey was amazing to work with! She was encouraging and professional. She showed me how to correct the latch issues I was having with my newborn. She worked with my schedule and came to my home. The convenience is essential for busy mamas! I cannot recommend enough!"

-Gaelyn & Fendall (4 days old)

  • "Kelsey with Coming Home RVA has been a critical piece of our support system as we learn to nourish our newborn. She really made us feel at home, in our own home with her comprehensive approach, positive attitude, supportive words, listening ear, and "Mary Poppins" bag of tools and tricks! Thank you Kelsey!"

-Bianca & Talia (10 days old)

  • "Katie was very personable and made me and my newborn comfortable from the moment she arrived. She was attentive to everything I said and gave me exactly the level of support I was looking for. She helped me with my baby’s latch, pumping, bottle feedings, and even weighed him before and after a feeding. She gave us a tailored plan and follow up commitments before she left. She was reassuring and helped boost my confidence with breastfeeding. Excited to see her again!"

-Amanda & Deuce (1 week old)

  • "Katie was amazing during our session. I immediately felt completely at ease with her dire to her calm nature. You can tell Katie enjoys her line of work! She was so friendly and so helpful. She assisted tremendously with my baby’s positioning and latch. Highly recommend and hope to see her soon!"

-Tomicka & Stephen (6 weeks old)

  • "I have loved working with Katie! She helped educate me before my delivery and was there afterwards to check in, make sure I was feeling confident and answer any and all questions I had. I cannot recommend Coming Home more, they are just the best!"

-Sabrina & Ellie (1 week old)

  • "Kelsey was very attentive throughout my entire experience. She was immediately responsive when I reached out explaining my unique circumstance as a gestational carrier and exclusively pumping, and continued working with me the entire time to make sure we could get things properly filed with my insurance. She listened to all of my concerns during our appointment, and spent as much time as I needed to feel comfortable with our plan. As a result, pumping for my surrogate baby is now a much more enjoyable (and less painful!) experience, and I’ve even increased my production with the correct flange fitting!"

    -Lisa (gestational carrier/ surrogate)

  • "I worked with Katie during pregnancy to prepare for breastfeeding and pumping and with Kelsey postpartum when my daughter was having some initial challenges with latching. I'm 7 months postpartum now and when I reflect on my pregnancy and early postpartum experience, I can say that working with them was one of the best decisions I made! Katie spent time educating me on breastfeeding and pumping and sized me for flanges while I was still pregnant. She was thorough and made sure to answer all of the questions I had as a first time mom. After delivering my daughter, I received minimal LC support in the hospital, but I was fortunate to be able to set up an in-home appointment for my first full day home with Kelsey. She was knowledgeable, attentive, caring, and supportive. During a stressful and emotional time, Kelsey helped me to feel empowered, optimistic, and confident that I'd be able to get past the challenges I was facing. She was patient, attentive, and listened well. She even provided me with a detailed plan and checked in with me between appointments. By my second appointment with her, my daughter latched and I've had a successful breastfeeding experience (and am still going strong!). I truly feel that Katie and Kelsey are a big part of the reason I've had success."

-Lindsey & Elodie (1 week old)

  • “As new parents trying to navigate a life of shockingly little sleep and trying to learn and help our baby learn how to breastfeed was a much more overwhelming experience than we could have planned for. I was hesitant at first about seeing a lactation consultant, but after our first experience with Katie and the Coming Home team, we were given the tools we needed to get in sync with our little one, maintain and increase my milk production, and adopt a new schedule that fit our needs and our baby's needs that was sustainable. Applying Katie's suggestions, our baby girl surpassed her birth weight and started to feed and sleep/wake perfectly fine - allowing us to get the rest and comfort we needed! We've done a follow-up since then to make sure we were still on track and to address other concerns. And again even though we thought we had it figured out, things changed and shifted and Katie was quick to provide us with more tips and suggestions. We felt so reassured after using her services and would recommend her every time! I never realized how important it was to really know some of the details and things we can do to nourish our baby girl better. And now that I do, I will continue to value her input and rely on her services in the future. Thank you so much for everything you've done for us! The relief that we had after you left, was one of the best feelings we've had in a while.“

-Anna & Fabiola (2 weeks old)

  • "I reached out to Kelsey during the hardest season yet of breastfeeding my 6 month old son. She listened to our whole story and all of the little changes happening in my son’s life (illness, teething, reverse cycling, distracted feeds) and then collaborated with me to develop a plan. I immediately started seeing improvements in Carter’s feeding patterns. Her suggestions were so helpful in getting us back on track! I would recommend her to any momma and remind them that consults are not just for newborns, we need support all along this journey with our babies. Thank you Kelsey!"

-Katie & Carter (6 months old)

  • "Kelsey was warm, compassionate, and knowledgeable! She took the time to get to know me and to get to know our family's story. She was also very patient with our toddler and two dogs, who all wanted to be involved in her visit :) Our initial consult was on induced lactation was helpful, and she was very encouraging! I look forward to working with her after we bring our baby home!"

    -Mary-Kathryn (prenatal/ adoptive mom)

  • "Reached out to Coming Home after having my second baby because nursing with my first was not a great experience and I wanted to do what I could this time around to have a better nursing experience. I thought all was good, but just wanted further confirmation that we were both set up for success in the long haul. Kelsey suggested that some of the annoying things I was facing could be the result of a tongue/lip tie, which if released, could benefit both of us. We chose to get both his ties released and have seen such improvement in his nursing. I'm so glad I connected with Coming Home and will sing their praises to all lactating humans I know! There is so much that you don't know as a mom (even after multiple children) when it comes to breastfeeding and having these amazing, knowledgable, caring ladies come to you to provide insight and solutions is truly a gift. I feel so confident in my nursing journey this time around knowing that I have the support of an amazing lactation consultant like Kelsey when I need it."

-Abby & Tucker (8 weeks old)

  • "Kelsey was extremely helpful with offering her wisdom, experience, and advocacy in my breastfeeding journey. During my first session, I will never forget, she said “you’re instinct was right, and you’re doing too much.” She gently lead me through a much more feasible set of goals, while prioritizing myself (mom’s mental health matters!) and my newborn. Kelsey shared her knowledge in a clear, patient manner and I didn’t feel overwhelmed. Her follow up resources are also invaluable. So grateful to have Kelsey along with us on the breast and bottle feeding journey!"

-Jess & Ezra (5 weeks old)

  • "Kelsey and the Coming Home team are incredible! I was given a home appointment within days of leaving the hospital and our consultation was comfortable, efficient, and immediately effective! It is so nice to learn to attach your baby in the comfy spot that you do every day. Kelsey came prepared to custom fit my new pump and quickly explained the settings which boosted my confidence that I was using it correctly. Most importantly she tailored her recommendations to my specific goals for breastfeeding my second baby after a difficult journey with my first. I felt so supported and encouraged and feel confident that she will be able to help me come up with a plan if any unexpected hiccups come up along the way."

-Page & Remy (2 weeks old)

  • “After having a poor experience at the hospital, it was so nice to have an LC that listened and took the time to work with me and my son. I would recommend to anyone who had a NICU baby!”

-Tara & Jack (3 weeks old)

  • “Having Katie come to visit in the first few weeks of my breastfeeding journey was the best decision I could have made. She made awesome recommendations to help heal where damage was done and correct baby’s latch so we could continue successfully. She was so friendly, supportive and knowledgeable. I wouldn’t hesitate to work with Katie again and would recommend anyone beginning their breastfeeding journey to bring her in as soon as possible after coming home with baby. She is the support system you need to get off to a great start!”

-Kathryn & Piper (8 days old)

  • "Kelsey is AMAZING! I love how she comes to me in the comfort of my home to help me and my newborn figure each other out. Kelsey is very knowledgeable and knew pretty quickly that my baby had a tongue tie. Kelsey put together a detailed care plan to help us with nursing and with some tongue exercises for my baby to help with latching. The care plan has been very beneficial. We are grateful for Kelsey and her knowledge that has guided us down the right path to take the necessary steps to help us with more successful and stress free feedings."

-Kim & Brooklyn (2 weeks old)

  • "Kelsey was wonderful to work with. She spent time listening to my concerns and made the entire experience very helpful yet comfortable. I was unsure what to expect and had worked with consultants in the hospital, but having Kelsey come to my home was a much more helpful experience. She went beyond suggestions for actual nursing and helped me to address supply issues and pumping issues as well. Her demeanor was also very comforting and natural. She hopped right in to help throughout the experience with my twins; she even changed diapers! I couldn’t recommend her more."

  • "I met with Katie for my prenatal lactation visit and she completely exceeded my expectations for the visit! I am a 3rd time mom and I have breast fed my previous two babies so I was wondering how helpful a prenatal visit would be, but it was included through my insurance so I figured why not. I was blown away by the knowledge I gained from that visit. Katie came so prepared to address all of my concerns and questions! She helped create a breast feeding care plan that was tailored to my specific needs. I left the visit feeling so optimistic and empowered to make this breastfeeding journey my best yet! Thank you Katie for providing such incredible care!!!"

    -Casie (prenatal visit)

  • "Katie was amazing to work with. When I could not find assistance elsewhere, Katie was available and able to meet. She provided me with excellent resources and information that no one else did. This information helped to clear up a lot of my lactation issues, provided much relief and I have doubled my milk supply. Katie's notes and instructions were detailed and easy to follow and I am happy to have found her. Please don't waste time and book Katie today."

  • "I contacted Katie with Coming Home RVA in advance of the birth of my second son. I had a very successful first breastfeeding journey with my first child 2 years ago but wanted to be prepared and armed with as much knowledge as possible for my second. In our prenatal visit Katie helped measure me to ensure I would be set up for proper flange sizes for pumping and we generally discussed my BF goals. Once my son was born, Katie came back and observed a feed and even was able to weigh him before and after which reassured us that he was competently removing milk. She confirmed some concerns I had about his latch and made referrals to a great pediatric dentist. She also provided a list of other referrals that could help us in our journey to make sure my son’s latch was proper and any oral restrictions were addressed. Even though things generally have been “easy” with my newborn and I am experienced with BF I gained valuable information from Katie and with her help was able to quickly address the minor concerns I do have. I would highly recommend Katie and Coming Home RVA."

  • “Finding Coming Home Lactation Services was one of the best things I have done for this pregnancy. Katie came before our baby arrived to go over things with me, and since coming for visits I have learned so much and she has helped a tremendous amount in such a short period of time. Our breast feeding journey wouldn’t not be the same if it wasn’t for her knowledge, support, and education.”

-Brandi & Averie (4 days old)

  • “Katie was caring and compassionate. Provided education and instructions on care prior to our first consult. She was accommodating with our appt schedule when I had to change it for baby’s tongue release. Would definitely recommend to any mom trying to navigate nursing, pumping and postpartum life!!”

-Sarah & Parker (10 days old)

  • “I reached out to Katie just as my daughter was about to turn 10 months old. I had noticed that I was experiencing a steady dip in my supply and a routine pediatricians visit confirmed that my daughter was beginning to fall off her growth curve. That’s when I knew I needed to take action, especially since she was showing little interest in solids as well. Katie worked with our busy schedule and saw us promptly after my inquiry. She thoroughly addressed all of my concerns regarding efficient and effective milk removal both nursing and pumping, as well as providing a variety of tips to get us back on track. Thankfully after following her advice, my supply increased and I was no longer having difficulty achieving a let down while pumping. I really feel as though she saved our breastfeeding journey and helped us surpass my goal of breastfeeding for a year (my daughter will be 13 months in a couple of days and we’re still going strong). Needless to say, I would highly recommend reaching out to Coming Home for any and all of your breastfeeding/pumping needs and questions!”

-Kara & Kennedy (10 months old)

  • “I worked with Katie after my second child was born. I had exclusive pumped with my first child because we had difficulty with latch, so I was skeptical and nervous about trying nursing again. Katie listened to my concerns and was always encouraging. She helped me find products that would help with positioning and meet my unique needs. She was a calming presence and I am grateful for her support. Katie and this team is an invaluable service for all with lactation needs!”

  • "Kelsey changed my life and my baby's life! My baby wasn't latching at all after her birth, and I was forced to pump and feed her with a bottle. I had ordered a pump only in case of emergencies and only owned one bottle. With Kelsey's help, I was able to switch from exclusively pumping to exclusively breastfeeding in less than two weeks!! She was so kind, competent, and effective! My baby went from loosing a dangerous amount of weight to steadily gaining lots of weight! Kelsey answered questions I didn't know I had. She showed me how to breastfeed without pain after so many mothers had told me to "just wait a few weeks," and "it's normal to bleed," and "there's nothing you can do." I cannot express enough gratitude to her for helping me fulfill the one role for my baby no one else can. She is the best!"

-Eve & Ruth (7 weeks old)

  • "Kelsey was prompt in coming out to help us at a time when I felt something was wrong but wasn’t sure how to best approach it. Having an IBCLC come to our home to help with our baby was wonderful. She was so knowledgeable and kind and validating to my specific experience. She was a wealth of resources and has sent me so many articles and videos on how to retrain my daughters tongue to help her feed better. She recommended seeing a pediatric dentist for evaluation on a release and because of her guidance we were able to schedule that release for two days after her visit. I am so excited to work with her in the future."

  • "I first attempted to breastfeed soon after delivery but immediately experienced challenges with latching and pain. I saw two different lactation consultants in the hospital and they both attempted to show me different breastfeeding positions and latching techniques. I still experienced a lot of pain and quickly began to feel overwhelmed and frustrated. Both lactation consultants expressed concerns about a tongue tie and I was advised to visit an ENT as soon as possible. I left the hospital with no immediate plan to continue to try to latch due to crack and bruised nipples. We saw an ENT soon after coming home and had our daughters tongue and lip tie cut. We were sent home with exercises to do and I was hopeful to attempt breastfeeding again with the help of another lactation consultant at our pediatrician office. I started to try to breastfeed again with a nipple shield and supplement with bottles and pumping. I quickly became exhausted trying to keep up the routine and was unfortunately still experiencing pain and challenges with latching. I was getting to the point where I was going to give up breastfeeding but I reached out to a swallow therapist and Kelsey at Coming Home for a last attempted at trying to pursue breastfeeding. The swallow therapist guided us on exercises to deepen our baby's latch and improve swallowing. Kelsey helped me identify what my immediate concerns were with breastfeeding. She validated all of my concerns and provided reassurance in whatever decisions I made regarding breastfeeding. She spent time assessing my baby's latch and help me find the best position to nurse. She also helped me find the right size for my pump to ensure I wasn't experiencing pain and maintaining my supply. Kelsey provided so many amazing resources and a detailed plan for me to use while I continue to work towards my breastfeeding journey."

  • “Katie has been an incredible resource for me as a first time breastfeeding mom. She is truly so kind and we’ve gotten so much from our visits!”

-Maura & Sloan (9 days old)

  • "I was so fortunate to have Kelsey’s lactation services after giving birth. It was incredibly easy to set up an appointment and I heard from Kelsey right away to set something up. Her care and evaluation was so thorough. She really normalized everything I was experiencing and gave advice that felt both evidence-based but also really practical for first time parents. I would recommend Kelsey and Coming Home to anyone new (or not!) to the lactation journey!"

-Meghan & June (4 days old)

  • "I had seen multiple IBCLCs prior to reaching out to Katie as I was struggling with pumping and needed the support in order to have a supply when I was going to be away from my baby. Katie took lots of time to actually listen to me, address all my concerns, and provide so much support and encouragement during her visit. Her extremely compassionate and understanding demeanor is so wonderful to a newly postpartum mom. My visiting sister was in tears at the care and attention I was getting from Katie, as she had no where near the support during her breastfeeding days! I have recommended Katie and Coming Home to all my pregnant friends! I have also had the pleasure of working with their newest employee, Jesse, to help with my now 3 month old's choking and reflux issues. She was so kind and caring to work with, and provided great advice and materials to help reduce my child's bottle feeding issues. Coming Home is such a wonderful service and I would recommend them to everyone!"

-Emily & Nora (5 months old)

  • "First time momma and first generation breast feeder here... I drove myself crazy looking for credible resources to help guide my breastfeeding journey. My OB recommended Coming Home and I am SO happy I contacted them. Kelsey was so helpful: gave easy to understand information without overloading my brain, answered all of my questions and made me feel so comfortable with a somewhat intimidating part of pregnancy. I feel much more prepared for baby's arrival and am already looking forward to meeting with Kelsey again!"

    -Laura (34 weeks pregnant)

  • "Kelsey is extremely professional and great at what she does. I appreciated her coming to my home - with a newborn, it can be a struggle to get up, get ready and venture out of the house. When she arrived, she made us feel like she has been apart of our pregnancy all along… and had no problem jumping in to help and create solutions to the problems we’ve been facing! I look forward to continuing to work with Kelsey and the team!"

-Brittany & Violet (5 weeks old)

  • "I cannot thank Katie enough for all of her help with my breastfeeding journey! She was so easy to talk to and very thorough, asking about everything from pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She was so knowledgeable and professional, giving me such great advice. And being able to see her in my own home just made it even better. I would recommend Coming Home to anyone looking for lactation services!"

-Elizabeth & David (6 weeks old)

  • "I met with Katie during a truly critical point in my breastfeeding journey, when I was weighing whether or not I had the resolve to continue after what had been a difficult start. But Katie gave me the confidence I needed to stick with it, and her positivity was just what I needed to hear as a new and overwhelmed mom. I think we tend to assume so much about breastfeeding will come naturally, and when it doesn't, it's easy to feel discouraged, and not just in those sleep-deprived first few months. Sometimes what you really need is someone who understands to sit with you in your own space and give you some encouragement, and that's what Katie did for me."

Kate & Sterling (1 month old)

  • "I was fortunate enough to have a close friend recommend Coming Home RVA when I was expecting my first child. I set up a prenatal appointment because I "knew I was breastfeeding" but didn't know much more about it. Katie was so incredibly helpful in making me feel comfortable BEFORE my son arrived. I ended up having quite a bit of difficultly (largely due to low milk supply) and Katie was there every step of the way. She remained positive, focused and never stopped coming up with new recommendations to help us. Her support was the more calming, comforting, encouraging than I ever could have imagined and it made those first two months so much easier to navigate. My insurance covered this in full but I would pay any amount of money for this invaluable support. I cannot recommend Katie and her team highly enough! I urge all mommas-to-be to PROACTIVELY set up this support network for yourself - you will be so happy you did."

-Katherine & Ethan (6 weeks old)

  • "Katie was soooo kind and professional during our home session. She was compassionate, caring, and answered the 10000 questions I had… and took her time! I did not feel rushed whatsoever or uncomfortable. She is a well of knowledge when it comes to breast feeding and pumping, and she left me feeling much more confident then when we started our session. I love the convenience and privacy of being in my own home, and to figure out if my insurance was accepted was an easy process. She provided follow up material and sources after our session, and told me to keep in touch with my progress. She was a delight to work with, and I recommend her to anyone who wants one on one help!! It was a special appointment!”

-Helena & Rosemarie (7 weeks old)

  • “Katie was very knowledge and helpful throughout the entire visit. Even when things got emotional for me, she was supportive and uplifting. I would definitely recommend her services. She is truly genuine about the work she does and cares about the individuals she's working with.”

Katie gave me so many resources to help heal my sores and then the information to make sure I didn't experience that pain again. Having someone so knowledge was incredibly helpful and it was so nice to have her come to my house. Katie made me feel so comfortable and really changed everything about this experience for me!”

  • "Jesse was absolutely incredible. She immediately made me feel comfortable about our concerns with our daughters' eating, and provided proactive advice and support and actionable recommendations to figure out a plan. We noticed an immediate difference in our daughter's eating, and our stress levels around meals, as soon as she left. We cannot recommend her enough. Thank you, Jesse!"

-Elizabeth & Sophie (15 months old)

  • "Kelsey was amazing during our initial visit! She was very knowledgeable, thorough, and personable. I didn’t feel like the visit was rushed, which is how I felt prior to getting discharged from the hospital. She provided so much information on how to better our breastfeeding journey and exercises that I could complete with my little Emersyn. I’m so grateful for Coming Home RVA."

-Kimberli & Emersyn (8 weeks old)

  • "Kelsey came to our house the day after we came home from the hospital. She was quick to respond to our email inquiry and it was such a relief to be seen so quickly! She taught me a new hold which made a significant difference in the way my daughter latches. She also helped find the correct flange size for me once I start pumping. Turns out, I was using the wrong size with my previous breastfeeding journey! I’m so grateful for Kelsey and Coming Home. They truly make you feel heard and are invested in your feeding journey."

-Casey & Eloise (3 days old)

  • "Kelsey was very knowledgeable and helped me latch the baby on her first visit. I recommend her services."

-Tatiana & Rowan (2 weeks old)

  • "Kelsey was very professional from the very beginning. I requested help with my third child as I had issues with breastfeeding my first two for the first couple of months. I did not want to go through the same scenario with my third. Once I found the appropriate tools to seek help, Kelsey came to the rescue. Even though my son has a tongue tie, Kelsey helped me find different positions and tools to help with the cracked nipples and the healing process. We’re hoping that with the tongue tie procedure, it will resolve the rest of the issues; however, I’m so very thankful for Kelsey to be able to assist and answer any questions I had during and following my appointment. She was so wonderful to work with!"

-Jasna & Liam (8 days old)

  • "Katie was super kind, understanding and very helpful even before my appointment with tips and things to get to help! She was able see me so fast and I was so thankful because I was in a lot of pain. I've never worked with an IBCLC before and I'm so glad I reached out for help and wish I had known about these resources sooner! After meeting with her I feel confident that I'm on a successful path to continue my nursing journey with my newest little one!"

-Sydney & Sutton (1 week old)

  • "Katie has been able to address all of my concerns with breastfeeding as a first time mom with her great deal of knowledge. You can tell she really loves what she does and has given me confidence to continue on my journey. I have already recommended her services to all of my breastfeeding friends and will continue to share!"

-Caroline & Elizabeth (9 days old)

  • "I am so grateful for Katie’s expertise! After breastfeeding my two sons for almost two years each, I was feeling confident about feeding leading up to my daughter’s arrival. However, the first few days of breastfeeding were completely different than my previous experiences (painful engorgement and difficulty latching, sore nipples, challenges waking the baby to feed) I messaged Katie in the middle of the night after 2 days at home. She was able to see us quickly and provided so many helpful tips on getting a sleepy baby to latch, ensuring full feeds, nipple care, and maintaining adequate milk supply. She also took the time to size me for my pump flanges which I had never done before, and I’m looking forward to a less painful pumping experience this time around. Katie’s kind and calming presence was such a welcome addition to our postpartum bubble and I would highly recommend her to any mom looking for assistance with breastfeeding."

-Sydney & Millie (8 days old)

  • "Katie is prompt, prepared, and has a very warm personality that made it very easy to talk about my breastfeeding struggles with. She was very understanding and compassionate. She helped me identify the issue and gave me options on how to fix it going forward. It has really helped! She has also provided a lot of positive feedback which just made me feel better about what I was doing. Felt more confident after our meeting and have been using her tips since which has made a positive difference in my breastfeeding experience."

  • "I can’t say enough good things about working with Katie! I reached out shortly after coming home with my new baby and she was quick to respond and schedule me with a virtual visit. Katie was super patient and reassuring in answering all my new mom questions. Katie is so knowledgeable and made me feel more confident in my breastfeeding journey. She also reached out several times after our visit to make sure I was doing ok and provided me with tons of helpful resources!"

-Macy & Layne (1 week old)

  • "Jesse was a gift to me and my son! It was awesome to have her come to our home and see him in his environment, and work with us where we spend each day. I learned a plethora of information from Jesse during our time, and am excited to see my sons progress already. Jesse was also reassuring to me in my child’s development, which helped me feel more at ease and confident in our starting solids journey."

-Jess & Ezra (5 weeks old)

  • "I highly recommend Jesse's services! Our son had a tongue tie release and to ensure proper oral motor function following this procedure, we scheduled an appointment with Jesse. She was able to quickly accommodate us on her schedule. She arrived promptly at our home and addressed all of our concerns and more! She was thoughtful and took the time to answer all of our questions. Because the evaluation took place in our home, we were able to show her our pacifiers, bottles, etc and she was able to provide real-time feedback for us. As a parent (especially first time parent), you sometimes question if you are doing the "right thing." It was invaluable to have a specialist like Jesse evaluate our son and help point us in the right direction. I would recommend her services for not only any first-time parents, but second, third, fourth, etc. Thank you so much for your helpful advice, reassurance, and compassionate care, Jesse!"

-Gabriella & Peter (3 months old)

  • "Jesse was absolutely amazing to work with. She came in at the height of our fears over our daughters slow weight gain. She was so kind and compassionate in her assessment of our daughter and in talking through different action plans. She was able to give us advice regarding not only ways to help our daughter but also questions to ask and things to be aware of from other care providers. She prepared me for what was to come and helped me know ways that I could advocate for our daughter. Jesse has been a vital part of our care and I am so thankful she was able to help us. I cannot recommend Jesse more. If you are in need of help from an SLP, Jesse is who you want on your team!"
